Our home care services

Our broad range of services supports you reliably through the day and takes pressure off your family — for a better quality of life at home.

01Basic care

Basic care under SGB XI

Help with personal hygiene, nutrition, mobility and continence care.

What is it?

Basic care (Grundpflege) covers everyday help such as personal hygiene, nutrition and mobility. The aim is to support people in their familiar surroundings and preserve their independence for as long as possible.

Who pays? The cost is normally covered by the long-term care insurance fund (Pflegekasse) once a care level (Pflegegrad) of 2–5 has been assessed. Each care level comes with a fixed monthly budget for home care services.

02Medical care

Medical care under SGB V

Medication, injections, blood pressure & glucose checks, dressing changes.

What is it?

Medical care (Behandlungspflege) covers all clinical tasks prescribed by a doctor — administering medication, injections, blood pressure and blood glucose checks, wound care and dressing changes. Our state-registered nurses carry these out professionally and reliably.

Who pays? The cost is normally covered by your statutory or private health insurance fund (Krankenkasse) once a doctor has issued a prescription.

03Household help

Household help

Help around the home, shopping, laundry and meal preparation.

What is it?

When everyday tasks such as cleaning, shopping, cooking or laundry become a burden — through illness, disability or the limitations that come with age — we are glad to help. Our household support lets you carry on living in your familiar surroundings and manage daily life as independently as possible.

Who pays? With a care level (Pflegegrad): covered by the long-term care insurance fund, for example through care benefits in kind, the monthly relief amount (Entlastungsbetrag) or substitute care / combined benefits.

With a doctor's prescription (for example after a hospital stay, an operation or acute illness): your health insurance fund may cover the cost, either partly or in full.

04Relief services

Relief services under §45b SGB XI

Hourly companionship, accompaniment to appointments and support for relatives.

What is it?

Relief services (Entlastungsleistungen) support people in need of care and their families in everyday life — hourly companionship, accompaniment to appointments, help around the home, or activities that encourage independence.

Who pays?Anyone with a care level (Pflegegrad) of 1–5 is entitled to €131 per month from the long-term care insurance fund. This amount can be put towards recognised relief and companionship services.

05Substitute care

Substitute care under §39 SGB XI

We step in when the family member who normally provides care cannot.

What is it?

Substitute care (Verhinderungspflege) gives family carers a break when they cannot be there — because of illness, a holiday or their own commitments. During that time our team takes over the care and companionship reliably.

Who pays? The cost of substitute care is covered by the long-term care insurance fund where a care level of 2 or higher has been assessed.

06Dementia care

Dementia care

Patient, sensitive companionship and activation for people living with dementia.

What is it?

Caring for someone with dementia takes patience, empathy and real expertise. Our aim is to support each person individually through the day, create familiar structure, and take pressure off the family.

What we offer

  • Cognitive stimulation (memory training, games, conversation)
  • Movement and activation (gentle exercise, walks, dancing)
  • Maintaining everyday skills (cooking together, laying the table)
  • One-to-one companionship and biography work
  • Advice and relief for family carers
Who pays?Dementia care can be billed through the monthly relief amount (Entlastungsbetrag, §45b SGB XI) or other long-term care insurance benefits, provided a care level has been assessed.

07Care consultation

Care consultation under §37.3 SGB XI

Professional advice for people receiving care and for their families.

What is it?

If you receive care allowance (Pflegegeld) and your relative is cared for at home, you are legally required to have a consultation with an approved care service at regular intervals. It exists to assure quality and to make sure home care is properly supported. Your long-term care insurance fund covers the cost in full.

How does it work?

Our experienced nurses come to your home, advise you on care matters individually and offer practical tips for daily life. On request the consultation can also take place at our offices or by video call.

Who needs it?

  • Care level 1: voluntary, but recommended
  • Care levels 2–3: at least once every six months
  • Care levels 4–5: at least once every three months

If the consultation is not carried out on time, the care allowance can be reduced or withdrawn. On request we will remind you before the next mandatory appointment falls due.

Who pays?Consultation visits under §37.3 SGB XI are covered in full by the long-term care insurance fund.

08Care training

Care training

Hands-on guidance and support for family members providing care.

What is it?

If you want to care for a relative at home but feel unsure about certain tasks, we will support you with one-to-one training. Our qualified nurses deliver it in your own home — free of charge to you, because the long-term care insurance fund covers the cost.

What the training covers

We pass on practical knowledge and show you how to handle care tasks safely and confidently, for example:

  • Using aids and equipment, and helping safely with mobility
  • Correct personal hygiene and safe administration of medication
  • Nutrition, positioning, and preventing secondary conditions
  • Managing stress and easing the load of day-to-day caring

The benefit to you

Care training builds your confidence, gives you certainty in difficult situations and takes a noticeable weight off your shoulders — so you can look after your relative professionally, lovingly and reliably.

Who pays?Care training under §45 SGB XI is free of charge to you — the long-term care insurance fund covers the cost in full.

09Wound care

Wound care

Professional treatment and monitoring of acute and chronic wounds.

What is it?

Wounds are not only physically taxing — they can severely restrict daily life and carry a raised risk of infection. Regular, professional treatment by trained nurses therefore matters a great deal.

What we do

We take care of acute and chronic wounds properly, in your own home. Our state-registered nurses hold specialist qualifications in modern wound management and make sure healing is supported as well as it can be.

Which wounds do we treat?

  • Chronic wounds (e.g. pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot syndrome)
  • Post-operative wounds following procedures or surgery
  • Acute wounds after injuries, falls or accidents
  • Infected or slow-healing wounds
  • Wounds with drains or catheter exit sites
Who pays?Wound care forms part of medical care under SGB V and is prescribed by a doctor. Once approved, the cost is normally covered by your health insurance fund — usually at no extra effort or expense to you.
